The Italian edition of the PATRES training course started on the
2nd of February 2011 at AREA Science Park's
headquarters. The course, with the support of the Italian Ministry
of Environment, entails a set of ten training
sessions until the month of May (four 2-to-3-day
modules). The 28 participants, coming from different local
aauthorities located in differemnt parts of teh country, have been
selected from a list of 55 eligible candidates. The training path
follows a multidisciplinary approach. It starts with a general
overview on renewable energy sources (solar thermal, photovoltaic,
geothermal, biomasses etc.) and then focuses on the drafting of
regulations and codes for RES deployment. The main goal is to
provide participants with instruments and tools to have a
general overview of regulations and policies for RES deployment, so
that they will be able to suggest schemes and techniques for the
diffusion of RES to their administrations. Once the in-class
section is finished, the 28 participants will develop a pilot
action with the support of a team of experts selected by PATRES.
The experiences from the 7 involved countries will be
collected in a publication which will give guidelines and practical
advice to public administrations.
